K2 Dental FAQ's

Q?
Can tooth enamel be restored?
-
A.
No, once you’ve lost tooth enamel, you can’t get it back. That’s why it’s so important to take care of it! You can avoid eroded tooth enamel by limiting your consumption of soda or acidic drinks. Talk to your dentist at K2 Dental for more details.

Q?
I just learned that I have diabetes. Do I need to worry about my gums?
-
A.
Elevated blood sugar levels due to diabetes can cause periodontal (gum) disease. When you have diabetes, it’s very important to see your dentist regularly – we recommend twice a year – for a complete oral check-up. Between visits, be sure to brush and floss gently and thoroughly.

Q?
What are immediate dentures?
-
A.
When you begin the process of getting dentures, molds will be taken of your jaws. At some point, certainly, any natural teeth that need to come out may be removed. In order to give you a natural appearance and to avoid the embarrassment of missing teeth, an immediate denture will be provided for you to wear home until your dentures are complete.

Q?
I have a cracked tooth! What can you do?
-
A.
It depends. Our K2 Dental dentists would have to see your tooth in order to determine the best course of action. A porcelain veneer might be just the cure. We might recommend a crown. Or it might be necessary to extract the damaged tooth and replace it with a bridge. Come in right away and consult with us.

Q?
My 10-year old son was hit in the face and now has a loose front tooth. What should I do?
-
A.
It’s vital that you bring your son in to see one of the dentists at K2 Dental immediately to determine if there is serious damage to the tooth, jawbone or gums. We’ll be able to make a judgment then.
